7 Ways to Craft Winter Snowflakes (Glitter, Paper & Pipe Cleaner)

This will be our last discussion for this winter on general ways to craft snowflakes with different materials. I am again pretty confident that these 7 ways to craft winter snowflakes will teach you some REALLY CREATIVE petal patterns. I have the beaded snowflake, alternating color snowflake and also the star snowflake.

Way #1: Craft A Snowflake with a Glitter Sheet and Beads

This is a beaded glitter sheet snowflake and is easy. It needs only a single petal folding and cutting pattern of a square sheet. The front layer needs four 4cm by 4cm square sheets.

The same is true for the back layer. The way of attaching the snowflake petals this way is less messy and makes the snowflake look 3D.

You will fold and attach 8 petals in total, and no center circle cutouts of the sheet. For each petal, make diamond cuts and start folding and gluing.

After you are done with the snowflake, attach some white beads that will be two per snowflake.

Way #2: Craft A Two-Layer Glitter Sheet Snowflake

From just rectangle strips, craft this easy 3D snowflake with alternating white and blue petals. From both colors of foaming sheets, cut 15 cm by 1 cm strips to begin with.

You need a total of 16 such strips for both layers of the snowflake. The folding pattern is the easiest here I have ever discussed.

Just making a twist folding and glue. That’s all. The remaining stuff is simply glue the snowflake petals side by side taking alternating the color.

Choose any color with the white.

Having two layers of snowflake, attach the front and back part. The best thing about this craft is that it is the simplest and different.

Way #3: Craft A Paper Snowflake

From just 1 sheet of A0 paper, folding and cutting, craft this puffy and lacy 3D snowflake. Just cut a square from the half of the sheet, fold it two times in triangle and make cuts.

Then unfold it to get a flat 4-petal snowflake. You also need attaching the cut strips to the center.

Make another snowflake. Attach the second behind and you will get a puffy snowflake that looks so elegant.

I recommend attaching a jewelry bead in the middle. After this, for New Year, you will have an 8-petal snowflake.

Way #4: Craft An Invisible Base Snowflake

The petal folding pattern for this glitter sheet snowflake is a little messy but elegant. Make each of six 3D snowflake petals from 3 8cm by 8cm square cutouts of foaming sheet.

Cut each square sheet diagonally before you make the V-cuts and make the folding as needed.

To help you make the cuttings of the same 1cm width, mark the point using toothpick. After you have joined the six snowflake petals, join side by side.

Way #5: Craft An Snowflake Star

Very easy to craft and colorful is this origami paper snowflake and New Year star. Just take a square sheet of 8 cm by 8 cm paper and fold it.

Repeat same folding for 7 more star petals. It will look so appealing if you alternate between the two colors of the cone petal.

Make a circle cutout and glue your cones around it.

In the middle, also attach a small jewelry bead. This snowflake will be puffy and great for Christmas.

Way #6: Craft a Pipe Cleaner Snowflake

With 7 pipe cleaners, craft this easy classic and star snowflake in white. You need two petal patterns: for the first one, craft pipe cleaner diamonds. Make 7 diamonds.

The second folding pattern is the rolled pipe cleaner into a circle.

That’s all, just leave a tail in the second pattern and glue inside each petal. It will be good to have a got glue. For the rolls, you need 5cm pipe cleaner cutouts.

Way #7: Craft a Paper Snowflake in Any Color

This is a super duper detailed paper snowflake, big and has a repetitive construction. To craft one, use two sheets of A1 paper, make foldings and cuts.

This snowflake will be puffy, 3D and look cute when hung. Any color from purple or white could be selected.
