What were the themes that the community loved the most and were also common to most crafters? To answer these questions, we ran an analysis of more than 1100 craft creators on the internet.
These crafters we chose mainly belong to crochet, but the results can be applied to any type of crafting. Also, these were teaching through tutorials.
Scope of Study: Since the interests fluctuate a lot, we have actually spanned the accumulation history from 2007 up to now (2025). It was really a hard job for all our members, but we did it.
Therefore, we automatically get rid of seasonal stuff, short-term trends, and similar things that are already known to most crafters.
So, the results we obtained were quite impressive and reflected the overall and general behavior of a hobbyist.
Method of Finding the Popular Craft Animas
We first began by finding the 6 most popular crafts that each crafter designed using publicly available data.
Finally, among all these crafts, we had to find which craft themes got the most user love in the complete set of 6 popular crafts. In other words, these were the most frequent topics.
Here we found that animal toys specifically and toys in general were among the community’s favs. So, moving one step further, we have now found the 10 community-favorite craft animals that every new crafter creator should try.

1. Cat / Kitten
With 35-40% population of the US alone having a cat in their homes, there is no doubt that the cat crafts should be a winner.
However, the characters featured in TV shows, comics, anime, and cartoons have led to far more demand for cat crafts.
