In this week’s “paper crafting” discussion, I will talk about these cute, easy & CREATIVE ocean paper crafts for summer vacations. This time, I have included mainly the sea creature paper crafts from origami to fold-and-cut, handprint cutout, and also “cut-and-glue” crafts.
Fun to play with, oh-so cute and colorful are these crafts. As for the materials, paper plates, cardstock, and origami sheets will be used. And for the themes, octopus, jellyfish, pufferfish, starfish, shark, and more!
This time, there are not many printable templates, but that makes them even more engaging. I will also suggest 5 rocking paper toys and one sailboat idea. So, be ready to supervise your favorite craft idea from this discussion!
Suggestion #1: Octopus Handprint Craft For Kids
This kawaii paper octopus with a FREE PRINTABLE template has eight arms that can be cut by tracing the handprints. Cut out two handprints, overlap them, and attach the head and smiling face cutouts, too.
Kids can also use a marker to draw suckers on the arms and curl the paper fingertips. With the blush, head spots, and the smile, it is the CUTEST craft activity.

This recycling craft will let the kids turn a tissue box into a colorful toy boat with a strong mast and two sails.

Let’s DIY a funny pufferfish craft by cutting slits and triangular spines from the edge of a paper plate and painting later.
Bright tempera paint and hand-dotted patterns give the fish a spotted look. You can also glue an eye cutout. To finish it off, attach a fin in the back!
Suggestion #7: Paper Starfish Craft
These 3D starfish are crafted from a variation of the traditional “fold-and-cut” paper star. So, it should be an easy and summer activity. The folding method is the same, but you will outline and cut the scalloped edges in the cutting step.
You can also use a pinking scissor for accurate results. These starfish are perfect for a sand art project. Finish by adding dots using a pointer or a marker.
Suggestion #8: Rocking Crab Craft
Let’s craft a googly-eyed paper crab that rocks back and forth. It has a wide smile and multiple folded paper circles for the jointed legs and pincers. To craft it, fold a large paper circle in half to make the sturdy rocking body. You can craft it in less than 30 minutes.
