CUTE things you can make from yarn without knitting, braiding, or crocheting! That’s what I am gonna talk about in this Week’s “no-knit yarn plushie” discussion. The spoiler is that these things are made from pom poms as well as by basic needlework, wrapping yarn around the things, and knotting.
However, because I am sharing video instructions for each idea, you can be a no-skill person to make these plushies. These are small, so they can then be used as keychains, ornaments, and even hairclip add-ons. Looking for a last-minute gift? Make any of them!
As for the themes, I included no animal plushie this time (that does not mean they are not cuter, I just have covered them a lot!). However, added a paw plushie, anyway!
Suggestion #1: Craft A Cat Paw Plushie
Let’s make this CUTE beaded nail cat paw plushie from leftover yarn with this unique method. The idea is to draw a cat paw on a sticky note and then embroider the loops with white and pink yarn in it.
Once you cut all the loops and trim properly, you will end up with a fluffy and soft paw with a texture similar to one you may not expect from a pom pom plushie.
Then just cut the paw from the square and make another one. By attaching them, you can hide the piece and have a 3D paw that looks like it on both sides. Also, sew the beads in the end.
Suggestion #2: Craft A Grape Plushie
Note that if you want a “pom pom grape plushie,” read “Discussion on Spring Plushies.” Now, you will learn how to DIY a yarn-wrapping grape keychain by wrapping yarn around straw bits for making grapes and looping yarn around the fork at all four points to make the leaves.
This method should be easier than the one I discussed in the spring discussion, still a bit demanding. To secure the leaves, you must use the sewing needle.
And to make a bunch, Wrap yarn around the green yarn around the tails of the straw grapes. This will make the stem as you go. Make this grape keychain this summer, for sure!
Suggestion #3: Craft A Mushroom Plushie
Let’s make a pair of life-like toadstool and mushroom plushies from just two pom poms with this method. The toadstool also features white pearls as its white cap spots. The curl in the stem and the perfect proportion of cap and stem size make them look realistic.
Start with the color A and wrap around three fingers 170 times. Then knot with the color B and make 40 wraps of that color with 4 fingers.
This will be the bottom of the cap. Similarly, keep on stacking yarn wrappings and cut and trim them all at once! Craft this plushie, this april for sure!
Suggestion #4: Craft A Pom Pom Flower Plushie
Whether you need a hair tie, hair clip, hair band, or even a ring add-on, make this mini ping pong flower in 5 minutes. Crafted from a multi-colored pom pom that makes a beautiful mix of white and pink, this is the REALLY the most elegant thing to DIY from yarn scraps.
Finish this flower plushie off with 7-pearl centre and felt leaves. For best results, you can also comb the fibers of the pom pom. To make this pom pom, just wrap both colors together and make just 20 wrappings.
Suggestion #5: Craft A Yarn Rainbow Plushie
I am concluding the discussion on this colorful, braided, pastel rainbow wreath. With the three rainbow stripes and wool clouds on either side, hang above baby walkers, in nurseries, or it will also make an irresistible summer bag charm.
The idea is to use foil pieces of 7cm, 8.5cm, and 10cm in length to make the base for rainbow stripes.
They just wrap the yarn around each to make three tiers. Be sure to use a longer wrap yarn wrappings around the foils in the beginning, so the clouds can be made as you go. Just cut and comb them in the end!
