Ways to Craft Pipe Cleaner Animal Pencil Toppers

A good reason to craft a pencil topper from a pipe cleaner is that its easy, quick, and versatile method. However, when based on something as cute as your favorite animal or pet, it doubles the fun. In this discussion, I will talk about some really clever ways to craft a pipe cleaner topper with animal faces.

This week, I have tutorials for pig, sheep, bunny bear, cat, and Angry Bird pencil toppers. Because all of them are widely considered favs, I am expecting you will definitely find your next project.

All of them are gonna be 10-minute projects, perfect for exchanging among kids’ classmates. Since we will only be focusing on the faces, they will be irresistibly cuter, familiar, and quicker. They can be made for a pencil of any diameter.

How to Make the Topper Base? That’s the easiest part. You will want to wrap the pipe cleaner around the pencil, pull it out, and glue it to the animal’s face.

Way #1: Craft A Pig Pencil Topper

King Pig is a familiar character from Angry Birds. This 7-minute pencil topper is based on King Pig, but you can also crochet a pink pig topper using pink pipe cleaners and opting out the crown part.

Gonna be a 3D pig face crafted by attaching two rolled and picked-from-centre pipe cleaners. Cylindrical beads are needed for making the nose holes on the muzzle that you can carefully attach using a needle and hot glue.

The remaining parts, like the crown and ears, need cutouts from the pipe cleaners. If you want to make it more recognizable, I would recommend using a parrot pipe cleaner as the main material. You can color the muzzle later.

Way #2: Craft A Sheep Pencil Topper

Let’s craft a 6-minute pipe cleaner pencil topper with the popular Shaun the Sheep face. This is the easiest topper of this discussion and perfect for spring.

Begin with a black pipe cleaner, roll it in a circle, and pinch it a little to make an oval. This will be the face of the sheep. Face? Well It is designed to also show a little of the body of the sheep.

So, you will want to make a circle using a white pipe cleaner and attach it to the back of the face. Also, take a cutout in white to make the hair. The last step is to glue the safety eyes and make the topper base. Easy! YES!

Way #3: Craft A Bunny Pencil Topper

This googly-eyed bunny topper is my favorite and definitely the cutest and most well-designed idea of this discussion. Unlike the previous ones, it requires oval googly eyes and a tiny plastic nose as well.

The interesting features are the ears crafted in different sizes, authetic muzzle, and the addition of pink in the ears. I am hoping you will also be thinking it’s inspired by Bugs Bunny; that’s what I suspect.

Dark blue, along with hot pink, seems a good choice, and I recommend that you stick to it. You can add it to your coloring markers and fall basket.

Way #4: Craft A Bunny Bear Topper

If you want to make a pencil topper as a present, go with this chenille stem teddy bear topper. It is so easy that you can even complete crafting one within 5 minutes. The learning time, however, is above seven minutes.

The 3D base face for this animal topper is the same as in Way #1. After that, make a bigger roll in dark brown and a little smaller in light brown and stack-join both.

You can attach them as ears. For the nose, I recommend using a black safety nose, even though a black felt or pipe cleaner piece works fine. You can also craft a small heart and attach it to the base.

Way #5: Craft A Cat Topper

This is a funny and irresistibly cute black cat pencil topper that may take more than 10 minutes to complete. In my opinion, pink is the most excellent color you can couple with black.

This cat features pink ears and a quirky, fuzzy nose, which I would suggest should be replaced by a safety nose. You can craft it inthe black during Halloween and in colors like orange, honey, and white for any time of the year.

This topper is not spooky and is a must-have for kids. You will want to start with a strawberry-shaped face base and make 2 such to have a 3D cat face.

Way #6: Craft A Bird Topper

Let’s craft a full Red Angry Bird with the Angry expressions for a pencil topper in less than 5 minutes. This is so easy and does not require any complicated shapes to be made.

My favorite part is how the black pipe cleaners hide a part of the googly eyes to make the signature anger of the red bird.

You can also craft a black angry bird using the same method and a yellow one, too, with a little change in the base.
