Including the grape, ice cream, flower, and three animal plushies, this week’s discussion will summarize the CUTEST yarn plushies for this spring. All of them are quick, easy, and are crafted using both the pom poms and the yarn tassels.
For small features, we will be using the felt, safety beads, craft wire, and pipe cleaners, and end up with authentic plushies. A fork, a cardboard, even a hand, and a diary will be used as a base. As for the animals, they included the chick, chicken, and bunny. So, check them out for sure!
Suggestion #1: DIY Grape Plushie
Let’s DIY a Purr-Fect bunch of grapes out of yarn, felt, and craft wire with this method! There is a clever way to make the ball pom poms for the grapes. Involves wrapping purple yarn 25-30 times around a diary, making many knots all along, and cutting between the knots to have pom pom wrappings.
After cutting and trimming, you will have round pom poms with the hanging strings already attached.
You will use these strings to assemble the bunch. It is a little messy step, so better to watch the tutorial. In the end, you will cut grape leaves out of green felt in two sizes and attach them.
Suggestion #2: DIY An Ice-Cream Plushie
Let’s kickstart the summer with this colorful, miniature, and easy sundae cone plushie using just a fork for making pom poms. There are three scoop pom poms, one cherry pom pom, and three yarn wrappings stacked over each other for the cone wafer.
To DIY the pom poms of different diameters, we shall wrap the yarn around either the four or three and two points.
The wrapping sequence is 70, 50, 10 for the ice cream and 80, 50, 35 for the wafer. The idea is to just stack the partially completed pom poms for the cone.
Suggestion #3: DIY A Chick Plushie
This 10-minute standing chick plushie is oh-so cute, life-like, and perfect for baby showers and spring. Small features such as the beak. Chick beak and feet are crafted using felt and pipe cleaners, respectively. Just requires sphere pom poms.
Since you want precision, it is recommended to use the cardboard bases. For example, start with a 3cm base with 100 wrappings for the head pom pom. Similarly, a 3.5 cm base with 90 wrappings.
This should be much easier to craft, even when it is your first yarn plushie. You must be good at trimming to shape the back of the chick plushie. Great for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and NEW year, too.
Suggestion #4: DIY A Chicken Plushie
For adding to the Thanksgiving decorations, DIY this miniature yarn-wrapped “hatching eggs” hen plushie with pom pom eggs. There is also a jute nest that requires wrapping the jute twine and gluing the base and the sides.
It is mostly crafted from the yarn tassels (unfinished pom pom), and only the tail is of pom pom.
In the tassels, we shall mix grey in case of the white chicken and black for the brown chicken. With the felt, we will be adding the comb and the beak.
Suggestion #5: DIY A Bunny Plushie
This life-like baby bunny plushie has been VIRAL recently, so if you missed it, craft one today! It is a 10-minute and easy plushie made from acrylic + sheepy wool yarn that gives it softness and a premium look.
For better contrast, I recommend crafting ears using pink felt. This is oh-so cute and will fit perfectly in your palm. It is recommended to use the cardboard bases to make pom poms for it.
Suggestion #6: Craft A Yarn Flower
These easy and simple yarn flowers for spring can be put up in just 5 minutes. Gonna be a mini ping pong flower that you can make as a hair clip add-on, brooch, outfit charm, or bag charm.
Begin with green yarn and wrap around 2 fingers 25 times, and tie using a strand in the color you choose for the bloom and green, too.
