Tutorial TO DIY Christmas Reindeer Craft

This project is a small deer head made from pipe cleaners. You use light brown pipe cleaners for the face. You roll the pipe cleaner to make a thick shape. You use dark brown pipe cleaners for the horns. You twist small bits of pipe cleaner to make the horns. You use light beige pipe cleaners for the ears.

You glue the ears and horns to the head. You make a red nose from a red pipe cleaner. You glue two eyes on the face. Last, you add a chain. It is a fun craft for kids. It is easy and very cute.

How to Make a Pipe Cleaner Reindeer Keychain

What you will need:

• Light brown pipe cleaners (for the head)

• Dark brown pipe cleaners (for the antlers)

• Light beige/white pipe cleaner (for the ears)

• Red pipe cleaner (for the nose)

• Googly eyes

• Strong craft glue

• Scissors and Ruler

• Tweezers

• Small bead chain (for the keychain)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Create the Reindeer Head

• Take a light brown pipe cleaner and cut a piece about 8cm long.

• Bend the pipe cleaner into a small triangle or teardrop shape and twist the ends together.

• Take another long piece of light brown pipe cleaner and wrap it tightly around and over the triangle shape. Keep wrapping until you have a thick, solid, teardrop-shaped head. Glue the end down so it doesn’t unroll.

2. Make the Ears

• Cut two small pieces of light beige pipe cleaner (about 4cm each).

• Fold each piece into a small loop and pinch the end to make it look like a leaf or an ear.

• Trim any extra wire. Glue the beige ears onto the sides of the light brown head.

3. Make the Antlers

• Cut two pieces of dark brown pipe cleaner (about 4cm each) for the main antlers.

• Cut four very small pieces of dark brown pipe cleaner (about 2cm each).

• Twist two small pieces onto each 4cm piece to create branches on the antlers.

• Apply glue to the bottom of the antlers and stick them to the top of the reindeer’s head, just behind the ears. Use tweezers to hold them in place while they dry.

4. Add the Red Nose

• Cut a small piece of red pipe cleaner (about 3cm long).

• Roll it into a very tight, small ball.

• Put a drop of glue on the front of the reindeer’s face (the pointy part of the teardrop) and press the red ball onto it.

5. Add the Eyes

• Put two small drops of glue just above the red nose.

• Carefully place the googly eyes onto the glue.

6. Attach the Keychain

• Use your tweezers to find a small gap in the pipe cleaner at the very top of the head (between the antlers).

• Slide the small bead chain through the gap and snap the chain closed.
