DIY Yarn Pom Pom White Toy Craft
This project shows how to make a cute gnome out of yarn. You will need orange yarn for the hat and white yarn for the head and beard. First, cut a small ring from a paper cup. Tie many pieces of orange yarn around the ring to cover it. Fold the yarn inside and tie the top to make a hat with a pom-pom.
Then, wrap white yarn around your hand many times to make a big bundle. Tie the middle and cut the loops to make a fluffy ball. Glue the hat onto the white ball. Add small beads for the eyes and a nose.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Make the Hat Frame
Take a paper cup and cut a ring from the top, about 1 inch wide. This will be the base of the gnome’s hat.
2. Prepare the Yarn for the Hat
Cut several pieces of orange yarn, each about 10-12 inches long. You will need enough to cover the entire ring.
3. Tie the Yarn to the Ring
Fold one piece of orange yarn in half. Put the folded loop through the center of the paper cup ring. Pull the two ends of the yarn through the loop and pull it tight. Keep doing this all the way around the ring until you can no longer see the cup.
4. Shape the Hat
Take all the loose ends of the orange yarn and push them through the middle of the ring to the other side. This creates the folded brim of the hat.
5. Stuff the Hat
Place a small amount of cotton or stuffing inside the orange yarn to help the hat keep its shape and look puffy.
6. Tie the Top Pom-Pom
Tie a separate piece of orange yarn tightly around the top of the bundle. Use your scissors to trim the yarn above the knot to make a round pom-pom on top of the hat.
7. Create the Gnome Body (White Pom-Pom)
Wrap white yarn around your fingers many times (about 30-40 times) until it is thick. Carefully slide it off your hand and tie a piece of yarn tightly around the middle of the bundle.
8. Trim the White Pom-Pom
Use your scissors to cut all the loops at both ends of the bundle. Trim the yarn until it looks like a neat, round, fluffy ball. This will be the gnome’s face and beard.
9. Assemble the Gnome
Use a hot glue gun to put a line of glue inside the rim of the orange hat. Press the white fluffy ball into the hat and hold it for a few seconds until the glue dries.
10. Add the Face
Glue two small black beads onto the white yarn for the eyes. Then, glue the small orange pom-pom or bead just below the eyes to make the nose.
