Learn how to make a jiggly, SUPER stretchy, and glittery rainbow slime at home using just Feviglue and glycerin with this slime recipe. You don’t need any borax to make it, as we shall use glycerin as an activator and water to make it soft and slippery.
It will be a shiny, colorful slime that looks even ELEGANT when you swirl it all together. For this demonstration, we shall make a 7-color rainbow slime by making each color separately. It’s easy, cheap, and even beats the borax or store-bought slime. You can also make it using any transparent glue. Just be sure to have enough.
DIY Rainbow Slime (No Borax)
We shall use the Fevigum as it is a clear synthetic glue that makes the rainbow colors look bright and “glass-like” rather than cloudy.
What You’ll Need
- Fevigum (Or any Clear synthetic glue)
- Food Coloring (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple)
- Slime Activator (You can use a contact lens solution + baking soda mix, or a liquid detergent like Ariel/Persil, we shall do later on.)
- Mixing Bowls (One for each color)
- Spoons for stirring
Step-by-Step Instructions
This is the first-ever written recipe that will let you make a jiggly slime out of feviglue, and here are the step-by-step instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Bowl
Set out as many small bowls as you have colors on your craft table. Pour a good amount of Fevigum into each bowl (5 pours in our case).
Step 2: Water
To make our rainbow slime “jiggly,” we shall add 1/2 cup of water to each bowl and stir.
Step 3: Coloring
Add 1–2 drops of food coloring into each bowl. To get a true rainbow, make sure you have a nice variety, just like we had 7 colors. Stir each bowl thoroughly until the glue is completely colored and there are no streaks.
Step 4: Activator
Add your activator to the first bowl. Here, the tutor used glycerin and three presses of the tube.
Add just a little bit at a time and stir quickly. You will see the glue start to clump together and pull away from the sides of the bowl.
Step 5: Repeating Process
Once the mixture is thick enough to pick up, start kneading it with your hands. It might be sticky at first, but keep working it!
Repeat this process for every color until you have a set of vibrant, stretchy slimes.
Shiny Step: Add the Glitter
Pour the whole of a small bottle of glitter into the doughed slime and mix again!
Step 6: Combining the Slime
Roll each color into a long “sausage” shape. Lay them side-by-side on a flat surface in the order of the rainbow (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple).
Step 7: The Final Swirl
Pick up all the strands together and gently stretch and fold them. You will see the colors start to swirl together into a beautiful rainbow pattern!
Note: Be careful not to over-mix, or eventually all the colors will blend into one solid color (usually a dark purple or brown).
Sticky Slime? If it’s sticking to your hands too much, add just a drop more activator.
Hard Slime? If you added too much activator and it’s snapping instead of stretching, try soaking it in a bowl of warm water for a minute to soften it up.
Storage: Keep your rainbow slime in an airtight container so it stays stretchy for days!
