Have you ever asked a crocheter about an “X” crochet item she made (barely) a few days ago, and found that she gifted it to a friend? Well, crocheted things are so elegant and love-symbolic that everybody wants them as gifts.
So, if you happen to be a crocheter, why not DIY a crocheted Mother’s Day present (intentionally) this year! Crochet items are all about ladies, and so, there is a countless number of things you can crochet for your mom as a gift.
That’s why I will be sharing my favorite crochet Mother’s Day gift patterns in a discussion that are all FREE and come with Written instructions.
While nothing beats the warmth of crocheting a sweater or any wearable, May is just the start of summer. So, I have chosen only non-wearable gifts, most of which are last-minute. Those will be the flower coasters, cup cozies, plant hangers, decorations, and more! So, let’s talk!
Suggestion #1: Daisy Flower Coaster
These Mother’s Day crochet daisy coasters are worked with the viral “power flower pattern”! Working in just 6 rounds, you can crochet in any color from orange and purple to even seagreen.
Crochet at least a pair using 100% cotton to have a coffee or a cold drink with your Mother! Should be quicker and easier for beginners.
Suggestion #2: Crochet Mother’s Day Cactus
Don’t miss crocheting this “Mommy and Me” cacti pot amigurumi this Mother’s Day. The idea is to crochet two round cacti snuggling in a stuffed pot, just like a mother and a baby with cute eyes and a smile. The catch is that the cactus is crocheted from a ribbed rectangle, which will be sewn on later.
Will make an irresistible desk buddy and window decoration. Perfect to gift your mom an Eternal gift, especially if she does not have a Green Thumb.
Suggestion #3: Crochet Plant Hanging
From just 3 striped classic granny squares, crochet this boho plant hanger to decorate your mom’s little porch. With 5 round granny squares, it can easily fit 12cm tall pots. The hanger also has chain stitch straps.
You can braid the yarn scraps and hang them from the bottom. The straps are, however, crocheted from chain stitch in two colors! While you can buy the pattern to support the creator, I recommend watching a free video tutorial.
Suggestion #4: Vintage Crochet Flower Potholder
Try this free pattern to crochet a vintage flower potholder that is thick and elegant. This double-thick requires crocheting two separate flower panels and seaming them for kitchen use. Otherwise, your mom will love this even as a doily and crochet coaster.
You can crochet it in two or three colors, and inspiration for both is available in the pattern. You will be surprised to know that we actually don’t need to crochet the separate petals. Just work the surface-slip stitch all around and between the petals.
Suggestion #5: Mom Cup Cozy
Put up this pair of elegant crochet cup cozies as a last-minute Mother’s Day present in any color. It has a tapestry MOM lettering with the O replaced by “heart.”
So, it would be the best way to express your LOVE for the mom. These are crocheted with the cotton yarn, so they can also be used for summer drinks.
Suggestion #6: Crochet African Daisy
Whether you consider May a part of spring or not, your MON won’t resist vase flowers as realistic and beautiful as this crochet African Daisy or Gerbera flower. This has three layers of petals; the same is the case for the middle.
Also, instead of the basic leaf, it features the real common daisy leaf. Finish this vase flower off with a yarn-wrapped craft wire.

Along with the basic stitches, you also require working FLO & BLO, to change between the pot, soil, and posable wire stem. You can also sell it at spring markets with the finished flower measuring only inches tall.

Whether she is old enough to get glasses or keeps on stylizing with sunglasses, this crochet summer sunglass pouch is a must-have Mother’s Day gift.
