In the previous discussion on “popsicle crafts”, too, I talked about the simple, 10-minute stick crafts for spring. Now, let’s discuss these even simpler, easier, and REALLY creative DIY pop stick crafts that I recommend to kickstart the summer vacations.
These are also craft sticks + other material crafts, so they definitely require stuff like pipe cleaners, paper, pom poms, and paint. But crafting them, especially with FREE printable templates and freehand cuttings, should be easier for preschoolers.
As for the themes, I included the pretty FUN ones this time, such as the superhero, popsicle ice cream, dragonfly, and even fish crafts, too. So, let’s start the discussion.
Suggestion #1: Pop Stick Superhero Craft
This is a popsicle stick, paint & cardstock craft, and will let your kids DIY funny superhero puppets. Great for “Crime and the City” plays, and can be customized in tons of ways. To boys, I recommend the red-and-blue superhero, and to girls, the pink superhero.
You can also use a polka dot cape, a clothespin for the body, and regular googly eyes instead of eyelashed ones. Kids can also write their first spelling using a whitener instead of “S.”
Suggestion #2: Craft Stick Cactus Kids Craft
Let’s craft this pair of “cactus in a pot” popsicle sticks, foaming sheet, and paint craft with kids in under 30 minutes. Most of the supplies used for this craft are from Dollar Tree, such as the Jumbo Popsticks, non-glitter foam, and the glue.
Require cutting the popsticks, which may be hard with ordinary scissors, so I recommend wire cutters instead of scissors. There is also a FREE printable template available for the pot and flower cutouts.
Suggestion #3: Campfire Popsicle Stick Craft
This oh-so-cute construction paper + popsicle stick campfire craft is a 30-minute activity made easy with a FREE printable template. Be sure to have jumbo sticks and colored paper in four colors. Features a smiling layered fire with blush cheeks.
It also requires acrylic paint, googly eyes, and a permanent marker. Only the wooden stick part requires painting three popsicle sticks dark brown and drawing the pattern over! It should be easy for kids.
Suggestion #4: Simple Mermaid Project
These funny and cute Popsicle mermaid puppets are quick but require more materials, except for the craft sticks. Those are the pipe cleaners, glitter foaming sheet, felt, and tiny craft eyes. First, cut a mermaid tail from felt glue.
Wrap the stick with a pipe cleaner, and if they aren’t available, markers can be used to color the wood instead. You can either cut triangles or circles for the bikini, and also omit cutting the hair strips.

Popsicle Sticks Flower Craft for Kids
This popsicle flower craft for spring is the easiest thing to DO with the popsicle sticks. Just be sure to have 7 popsicle sticks in two sizes (only 2 smaller ones), craft paint, glue, and a plastic button. First, attach four standard-sized popsicle sticks for the petal.
For this, first attach in an “X” shape and then attach vertically and horizontally. You can also attach a pom pom, paper cutout, or recommended button in the middle.
Giant Paper Popsicle Craft
This colorful and giant popsicle paper ice cream is a 20-minute FREEHAND art project. Variations also include a Robot Face version that can make a COOL mask. Involves freehand cutting a popsicle shape from cardstock. Then glue shapes cut from punch holes, such as circles and squares.
With them, mimic the “sprinkles” or face. You can also attach peeking scissor stripes. If you focus only on geometric arrangement, it can also be seen as an abstract art craft.
Paper Heart Flowers
This is a great way to use paper scraps to create a 3D bouquet that never fades. The accordion folds give the petals extra volume, making them look like real blooms in a jar.
Cut half-heart shapes from folded paper to make 3D petals. Glue these around the top of a green popsicle stick, add a pom-pom to the center, and glue on smaller paper hearts as leaves.
Popsicle Pom Pom Flowers Craft
Using soft pom-poms gives these flowers a fun, fuzzy texture that looks great in a vase. It is a quick way to make a colorful 3D garden with basic supplies.
Glue five pom-poms in a circle and one in the middle to make the flower head. Stick it onto a green popsicle stick and add paper leaves to finish the stem.

Glue three popsicle sticks into a triangle and attach a matching paper triangle to the back for the body. Glue on paper fins and a tail, then add a googly eye to finish your fish.
Popsicle Stick Dragonfly Craft
These dragonflies look great because the glitter and markers make the paper wings shimmer against the wooden body. It’s a quick trick to make a plain craft stick look bright and a bit more delicate.
Paint a popsicle stick and glue two pairs of paper wings to the back. Finish it off with googly eyes and some glitter on the wings.

Popsicle Stick Airplane Craft
Building these airplanes is a fun way to experiment with different sizes of sticks to create a sense of scale. It’s a classic project that works well because the structure is sturdy enough for kids to actually play with once the glue sets.
Glue a small craft stick across the front and back of a clothespin to make the wings and tail. Attach a small button or bead to the nose as a propeller, then paint the whole plane in bright colors.
