It will be a chubby turtle plushie with a small heart appliqué attached to the shell, made using the 1-round heart pattern. This small detail is enough to make it even more special than a regular summer turtle plushie. You can also crochet it in purple, white, and red or pink, white, and yellow, even though I am showing you an aquatic version.
With amigurumi yarn, it will end up pretty small, but with super bulky yarn, it would become a huggable desk buddy or pendant. You can also embroider the eyes instead of adding the safety beads. Now, let me provide you with a pattern for crocheting it.

Here are the supplies recommended if you want to crochet this turtle amigurumi as a plushie:
- Yarn: Super bulky plush yarn in two shades of blue and white. You can use Bernat Blanket yarn.
- Hook: 5.0mm or 5.5mm (depending on your tension).

Stitch Abbreviations
- MR: Magic Ring
- ch: Chain stitch – Used for starting rows or creating height for legs.
- sc (x): Single crochet
- inc (v): Increase
- dec (a): Decrease
- sl st: Slip stitch
- hdc: Half double crochet
- dc: Double crochet
- tr: Treble crochet
- st(s): Stitch(es).
- R: Row or Round.
- *[ ]n: Repeat the instructions within the brackets “n” number of times.
- (n): The number at the end of a round indicates the total stitch count for that round.

1. Turtle Shell
The shell uses a spiral crochet method. Do not join rounds unless specified.
R1: MR 8 sc (8 sts)
R2: 8 inc (16 sts)
R3: [1 sc, inc]*8 (24 sts)
R4: [2 sc, inc]*8 (32 sts)
R5–R9: 32 sc (32 sts per row)
At the end of R9, join with a slip stitch (sl st) to the first stitch of the round. Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for sewing later.
2. Turtle Head
The head is also worked in a spiral.
R1: MR 6 sc (6 sts)
R2: 6 inc (12 sts)
R3–R6: 12 sc (12 sts per row)
R7: 6 dec (6 sts)
Note: Stuff with fiberfill (PP cotton) after the 3rd decrease of R7 before the opening becomes too small.
Join with a sl st to the first stitch of the round and fasten off.
3. Turtle Belly & Legs
The belly begins exactly like the shell for the first four rounds.
R1: MR 8 sc (8 sts)
R2: 8 inc (16 sts)
R3: [1 sc, inc]*8 (24 sts)
R4: [2 sc, inc]*8 (32 sts)
R5 (Legs & Head Attachment Round):
Leg 1: ch 2, 5 dc in the first st, remove hook and insert into the space before the first dc to pull the loop through, ch 1 to secure, ch 2.
Space: 5 sc in the next 5 sts.
Leg 2: ch 2, 5 dc in the next st, close leg, ch 1, ch 2.
Space: 5 sc in the next 5 sts.
Leg 3: ch 2, 5 dc in the next st, close leg, ch 1, ch 2.
Space: 5 sc in the next 5 sts.
Leg 4: ch 2, 5 dc in the next st, close leg, ch 1, ch 2.
Space: 5 sc in the next 5 sts.
Head Attachment: Flatten the head and crochet through both the head (3 sts) and the belly (3 sts) simultaneously using sc.
Finish: sc in the remaining sts of the belly, sl st to join, and fasten off.
4. Heart
Worked in a magic ring (MR).
Step 1: MR, ch 3.
Step 2: 2 tr into the ring.
Step 3: 1 dc into the ring.
Step 4: 1 hdc into the ring.
Step 5: 1 sc into the ring (midpoint).
Step 6: 1 dc, 1 sc (mirror).
Step 7: 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 tr.
Step 8: ch 3, sl st into the ring.
Finish: ch 1, pull yarn through, leaving a long tail, and pull the MR tight to form the heart shape.
5. Assembly & Finishing
Heart Decoration: Weave in the short tail; keep the long tail for sewing.
Joining Shell and Belly: Align both pieces (32 sts each). Sew stitch-by-stitch using the shell’s yarn tail.
Continue past the legs.
Head Positioning: When reaching the head, pull slightly upward (about two rows) to secure it to the shell.
Before closing completely, stuff firmly with fiberfill.
Close and weave in the yarn end.
Attaching the Heart: Sew the heart onto the shell (slightly off-center if desired).
Facial Details (Eyes): Embroider black yarn eyes between R2–R3 of the head using small horizontal stitches.
