Easiest Water Slime for Summer
This recipe will let you make a water slime that is much more fluid and jiggly than standard slime. The secret is the combination of clear glue and a high water content, balanced with the unique properties of the mouthwash.

Materials Needed
- Listerine (Blue or Green works best for color)
- Clear PVA Glue
- Borax Activator (or your homemade mix: 1 cup warm water + 1 tbsp boric acid + 2 tbsp baking soda)
- Water (250 ml)
- Blue Food Coloring
- Two Mixing Bowls
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prepare the Listerine
Fill your smaller bowl or teacup with Listerine. This will give both color and a scent to the slime. Set this aside for now.
2. Start the Glue Base
In your second, larger mixing bowl, pour in 2 of your clear PVA glue, 147ml each. You can use any brand, just be sure to use clear glue so the slime stays transparent like water.
3. Add Color and Activator
Add a few drops of blue food coloring to the glue and stir. Even though the Listerine is blue, adding a little extra here will make it the slime retain the same amount as we pour the water into the slime.
Next, add your borax activator. This starts the chemical reaction that turns the glue into a thicker substance.
4. Add Water for Jiggle
Measure and pour 2 mugs of 250 ml of water into the glue mixture. This high amount of water is what makes that “jiggly” movement.
5. Combine the Mixture
Stir the glue and water mixture well, then pour in the Listerine from the first bowl. Mixing these two separate liquids makes that nice consistency.
6. Form and Knead
Continue stirring until the mixture clumps together and makes a jelly slime. Pick it up and begin kneading it with your hands to bond all the ingredients together.
7. The Setting Phase (Step 10)
As we have the slime now, place it back into a clean bowl. This is the most important step: cover the bowl tightly with a transparent wrap.
8. Wait One Day
Keep the bowl covered for 1 full day before kids can start playing with it. This will let all the tiny air bubbles rise to the top and disappear, leaving you with a crystal-clear, glass-like water slime.
