Felt DIY bugs

How to craft Bee, butterfly, and ladybug felt plushies will be the topic of this discussion. If the craft flowers are irresistible exchanges among adults, the craft bugs are among kids.

That’s why you should learn and teach these 5 ways to craft felt bugs with video instructions. Like always, these plushies will have cute additions like googly eyes, pipe cleaner antenae and kawaii overall forms.

There are three ways you can craft a ladybug here, and for this, you will find enough creativity.

This is a part of an animal felt plushie series, so be with us.

Suggestion #1: Craft A Felt Ladybug with way 1

This is the way #1 for crafting a ladybug. The characteristics are as follows: no need for stuffing, needs simple cutouts, and ends up as a badge for kids. You will want to sew a pin brooch or a magnet if wanna use it as a fridge magnet.

Start with a circle cutout from black felt. It should not be an overly perfect circle. Sew on the wings in red like a pizza slice using a needle.

Similarly, attach black circle spots. A back panel is where you have to attach the brooch pin. Use googly eyes of different sizes to make it look funny.

Suggestion #2: Craft A Felt Butterfly

Wiggly eyes, a navy pipe cleaner, and some stuffing will be needed for this stuffed felt butterfly. This is small, so I would recommend using it as a spring keychain and bag charm.

For this toy, use googly eyes of the same size, as you will want it cute, not funny. Also, attach the navy nose, letting it overlap the eyes a bit. The idea is to sew wings such that you end up with two layers.

Bend a piece of pipe cleaner a bit and use it as antennae. It will look cuter with a small felt flower. It is also easy.

Suggestion #3: Craft a Felt Ladybug with Way 2

The base construction in Way #2 of crafting a ladybug is the same as in the stuffed butterfly. So, it will also be stuffed and can be used as a bag charm for spring. Even the pipe cleaner antennae and small felt flower are the same.

So, I would recommend making a set of both. The oval googly eyes look better than circular, and you should keep the spacing to zero.

You should sew the wing cutouts directly to the neck of the ladybug. It is even cuter than the first one and for sure will be a little demanding.

Suggestion #4: Craft a Ladybug Felt Bee

If you wanna craft a felt bug with an easy wing pattern, craft this stuffed bee keychain. In the previous discussion on felt plushies, we discussed that you should first draw a whole bee and then take individual cutouts.

This works as follows: Scotch tape a shrink plastic on the part of the drawing and trace it with a marker. Then attach this with felt and cut the template.

This bee drawing would be kawaii and Chibi. It means the head cutouts will be 1/2 of the body. It also needs the same things as a butterfly and a ladybug.

Suggestion #5: Craft a Ladybug Way 3

The way #3 of crafting a ladybug is REALLY creative. The idea is to craft a ladybug ice cream stick only using felt (black, red, beige ), the googly eyes, and hot glue. With that said, the stick is actually crafted from felt.

You will also need a metal ring and a lanyard mobile strap if you wanna use it as a keychain.

This one will need round and deep googly eyes. In this ladybug, you have to use surface-stitching for sparating the wings. That means, only one red part is needed.
