Crochet Kissing Monster Plushie: Round-by-Round Pattern
Follow this written crochet pattern for the one-eyed monster amigurumi with the assembly in the end:
Materials Needed
- Yarn: Plush or Milk Cotton yarn (or any amigurumi-friendly yarn) in Pink (for body/legs/arms), Dark Pink (for ears), Yellow (for the lips), and White (for the eye).
- Crochet Hook: 2.5mm. Or 5mm for the plush yarn.
- Eye: One 8mm safety eye (or plastic eye to glue on). Or 12 mm.
- Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill.
- Tools: Tapestry needle, scissors, stitch marker, and a hot glue gun (optional, for attaching parts).

Pattern Instructions
Legs & Body
Use Pink yarn. You will make two legs and then join them to crochet the body.
First Leg:
- Round 1: Make a MR with 8 sc. (8 sts)
- Round 2: 8 inc. (16 sts)
- Rounds 3-4: 1 sc in each st around. (16 sts per round) Fasten off the first leg.
Second Leg & Joining:
- Rounds 1-4: Repeat the same instructions as the First Leg. Do not fasten off.
- Round 5 (Joining): From the second leg, ch 3. Join to the first leg with a sc. Work 15 more sc around the first leg (16 sc total on the first leg). Work 3 sc into the 3 chains. Work 16 sc around the second leg. Work 3 sc into the opposite side of the 3 chains. (38 sts total)
- Round 6: 7 sc, 2 inc, 17 sc, 2 inc, 10 sc. (42 sts)
- Rounds 7-12: 1 sc in each st around. (42 sts per round)
Creating the Mouth Opening:
- Round 13: 11 sc, 17 sc in BLO, 14 sc in both loops. (42 sts)
- Round 14: 11 sc, 17 sc in BLO, 14 sc in both loops. (42 sts)

Continuing the Body/Head:
- Rounds 15-20: 1 sc in each st around. (42 sts per round)
- Round 21: (5 sc, 1 dec) repeat 6 times. (36 sts)
- Round 22: (2 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc) repeat 6 times. (30 sts)
- Round 23: (3 sc, 1 dec) repeat 6 times. (24 sts)
- Round 24: (1 sc, 1 dec, 1 sc) repeat 6 times. (18 sts)
- Round 25: (1 sc, 1 dec) repeat 6 times. (12 sts) Pause here to stuff the body and legs firmly with fiberfill.
- Round 26: 6 dec. (6 sts) Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Weave the yarn tail through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches and pull tight to close the hole at the top of the head. Weave in the end.
Mouth / Lips
Use Yellow yarn. You will be working into the unworked Front Loops (FLO) left behind from Rounds 13 and 14 of the body.
- Round 1: Attach the yellow yarn to the first FLO stitch of Round 13 (the bottom edge of the mouth). Work 17 sc across the bottom lip. When you reach the end, jump up to the FLO stitches of Round 14 (the top edge of the mouth). In the first stitch of the top edge, work 3 sc in the same st. Then work 16 sc across the top lip. In the very last stitch of the top edge, work 3 sc in the same st. (40 sts total around the mouth opening)
- Rounds 2-4: 1 sc in each st around. (40 sts per round) Fasten off and weave in the ends. Fold the yellow section outwards and roll it slightly to form the thick lips of the monster.
Eye
Use White yarn.
- Round 1: Make a MR with 6 sc. (6 sts)
- Round 2: 6 inc. (12 sts)
- Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) repeat 6 times. (18 sts) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Insert the 8mm safety eye into the center of the magic ring.
Arms (Make 2)
Use Pink yarn.
- Round 1: Make a MR with 7 sc. (7 sts)
- Rounds 2-6: 1 sc in each st around. (7 sts per round) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. You do not need to stuff the arms.
Ears / Horns (Make 2)
Use Dark Pink yarn.
- Round 1: Make a MR with 6 sc. (6 sts)
- Round 2: 6 inc. (12 sts)
- Round 3: (1 sc, 1 inc) repeat 6 times. (18 sts)
- Rounds 4-5: 1 sc in each st around. (18 sts per round)
- Round 6: (1 sc, 1 dec) repeat 6 times. (12 sts) Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the ears lightly with fiberfill.
Assembly
- Eye: Position the white eye patch centered directly above the upper lip of the mouth. Sew it into place (or use hot glue if preferred).
- Arms: Sew the arms to the sides of the body, positioning them roughly level with the middle of the mouth.
- Ears/Horns: Position the stuffed ears on the top left and right sides of the head. Sew them securely into place.
