Below are the step-by-step instructions for the amigurumi capybara wearing a fish hat with the assembly, or what you call, the finishing touches:
Materials Needed
- Yarn: Chenille/velvet bulky yarn (or Milk Cotton 125g) in Brown (for the capybara) and Yellow (for the fish hat).
- Crochet hook: 3.0 mm for chenille yarn (or 2.5 mm if using milk cotton).
- Black safety eyes.
- Polyester fiberfill for stuffing.
- Yarn needle, stitch markers, and scissors.
- Blush or red marker for the cheeks.

- Row 2: 2E, 1T, 2E, 1T, 2F, sl st into the last space. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Fish Top Fin (Yellow Yarn)
- Row 1: Join yarn at the top center of the hat. Crochet 8X evenly in a straight line from front to back. Ch 1, turn.
- Row 2: 1X, 1T, 1F, sl st, 1F, 1T, 1X. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Finishing Touches
- Add safety eyes to the capybara face and embroider a small snout.
- Apply blush to the capybara’s cheeks.
