With this 3-in-1 tutorial, learn how to DIY 3 Halloween pom pom plushies + how to assemble them into a CUTE garland for fall festivals! This set includes 3 simple plushies, including a pom pom pumpkin plush, a bat plush, and a boo ghost plush. These Halloween character plushies are simplified so you can make them in bulk to assemble into a garland.
This yarn plushie fall garland will make your Halloween decor super special and kids’ favorite. You can also make these DIY spooky plushies as keychains & small presents for kids.
We shall start by making the ghost, then the pumpkin, and finally the black ghost. Note that if you are looking for a last-minute Halloween present, these plushies are worth making; otherwise, I will soon share tutorials for making more detailed DIY Halloween plushies. Anyway, continue reading to learn more about this Halloween plush project!
Quick Guide for Making Each Pom Pom Plush
You will start with the white yarn to make the ghost plush! Start with 50 wraps around 4 fingers and make a tassel with it! That’s your DIY boo ghost plush, similar to the Japanese Weather ghost! You will also sew the beads as the eyes of the ghost and try to keep the head of the tassel bulky and big!
Then make 70 wraps with the orange yarn around 3 fingers to make the pumpkin. Then just knot from the middle using the light green yarn and spread the wrapping around this!
Then make a stem by wrapping yarn around the 3-folded yarn strand and making an overhand knot to secure! Glue or knot over the stem afterwards! To make the bat, you will need 30 wraps of black yarn and make an uncut tassel (no fringes) for the body. Then cut the felt wings! I recommend you watch the tutorial for better learning, making the plushies and the garland!
Supplies Needed
The following are the materials & tools needed to do it yourself: this DIY fall decoration garland plush:
- White yarn (for the ghost plush)
- Orange yarn (for the pumpkin plush)
- Black yarn (for the bat plush)
- Light green yarn (for the pumpkin stem)
- Black felt sheet (for the bat wings)
- Black beads (for the ghost’s eyes)
- Scissors
- Yarn needle (for sewing the beads and assembling pieces)
- Hot glue or craft glue (to attach the stem and felt wings)
- String or twine (to assemble the plushies into a garland)
Optional:
- Keychain rings or lobster clasps (if making the plushies into keychains instead of a garland)
- Twine cord
