This year’s Halloween pom-pom spider plushies are for sure the CUTEST! And the one today, is for the SURE the most adorable I have shared so far! So, learn how to DIY this UNIQUE black and orange spider made from orange yarn and pipe cleaners. It is for Halloween windowsill/mantel displays, party table accents, wreath embellishments, cute gift toppers, or seasonal classroom crafts.
Googly-Eyed Pom Pom Spider Plushie

Two pom-poms – a head (80 wraps around a cardboard tube) and an abdomen (120 wraps) – are tied at the center, trimmed into spherical balls, and hot-glued together.
Four 15 cm orange pipe cleaners are bundled at the center to make eight legs, wrapped with black pipe cleaner coils for stripes, bent into jointed stances, and singed at the tips. The legs are adhered beneath the body and finished with googly eyes.

Difficulty Level
Level: Easy / Beginner
Why: The project requires only basic craft skills—wrapping yarn, basic scissor trimming, twisting pipe cleaners, and using a hot glue gun. The only steps requiring extra care (and adult supervision for children) are handling hot glue and using a lighter to briefly singe the pipe cleaner ends.

Make the Halloween Googly-Eyed Spider Plushie
Quick Frame-by-Frame Guide
-
Make the Head Pom-Pom (00:00–01:34): Wrap orange yarn 80 times around a cardboard tube. Slide it off, cut the looped ends, cinch tightly in the center with a yarn strand, and trim into a small round pom-pom.
-
Make the Body Pom-Pom (01:35–02:44): Wrap yarn 120 times around the tube. Slide off, tie securely in the middle, cut the loops, and trim into a slightly larger round pom-pom.
-
Join Head & Body (02:45–03:04): Apply hot glue between the two pom-poms and press them together firmly.
-
Prepare the Legs (03:05–03:53): Cut four
15 cmorange pipe cleaner segments. Fan them out across each other at the center (yielding eight leg ends) and bind the middle tightly with a small piece of pipe cleaner. -
Add Stripes & Shape (03:54–05:08): Coil short segments of black pipe cleaner around each leg to form bands, snipping excess with wire cutters. Bend each leg twice to create joints, then quickly singe the tips with a lighter.
-
Assemble the Spider (05:09–06:00): Hot-glue the leg cluster to the underside of the pom-pom body, adhere two googly eyes onto the front head pom-pom, and adjust the legs so the spider stands upright.
