This is the second discussion on Summer Crafting for Kids. This time, I have some suggestions for low-skill summer activities for preschoolers. Included crafts with FREE printable templates, no-paint, and scrape paint crafts, recycling, and random tear crafts, too.
Themes include the ice-cream, jellyfish hanging, seashells, popsicles, pineapples, aquariums, and a few more. As for materials, they included even stone, paper plates, cardstock, tissue paper, leftover watercolors, and many more.
The main goal of this discussion is to let the kids explore their creativity by trying free-form crafting methods. While cutting and assembling a printable template is easy, I would recommend giving scrape paint a try.
Suggestion #1: Easy Jellyfish Craft For Kids
In under 15 minutes, assemble this kawaii Jellyfish paper craft with the curly tentacles made from the stripes of cardstock. The color rule is to use cardstock in three shades of the same color.
There is a FREE template for taking the cutouts, such as the googly eyes, middle, and bell of the jellyfish. Make the tentacles by rolling a strip of paper and unfolding.
Suggestion #2: Mason Jar Fish Craft
Fill the jar with water, put a plastic fish in it, and add a few drops of food coloring. You can also add some glitter and place little jellyfish over the gravel.
Suggestion #3: Colorful Jellyfish Craft for Kids
Craft this oh-so cute Jellyfish hanging using a paper bowl, a pair of big googly eyes, tissue paper, and ribbon strips. With the tissue paper in many colors, kids can add vibrancy to this jellyfish craft without paint.
This is done by gluing tissue paper squares on an upside-down bowl. Then hang curly gift ribbons from the inside to act as the shiny tentacles. This is a cute and easy craft!
Suggestion #4: Ice Cream Craft for Kids
The most definite summer theme for crafting is ice cream. Let’s craft this colorful, big, and easy three-scoop ice cream cone using cardboard. This is a recycling craft, as it is kinda bigger, and you can take cardboard from old appliance boxes.
You will also need old magazines, some leftover paint, and plastic bottle caps. To begin with, cut out cardboard circles for the scoops and a large triangle for the cone.
Easy Turtle Painted Rocks For Kids
During the summer, kids can at least go outside and collect smooth rocks. So, painting a rock can definitely be an irresistible activity for summer. This summer, you can paint this kawaii smiling turtle with blush cheeks on a white background.
This drawing can be easily done on any shape of the rock. Prepare the rocks with a few coats of white acrylic paint and use a pencil to sketch before getting started.

Scrape Painting Popsicle Craft Kids Will Love
Scrape painting means randomly mixing drops of different colors on a paper sheet. Scrap painting crafts like this colorful paper popsicle are perfect for preschoolers and super fun to make. They can make unique patterns of colors and play with colors this way.
Start by dropping different colors of paint onto white cardstock. You can multiply from one sheet of painted paper. Trace a popsicle shape onto the paper and cut it out.
Easy Marbled Seashell Art for Kids
This marbled rainbow seashell art also requires scrape painting and can be turned into wall art. For the best results, it is recommended to use white clam shells, preferably collected from the beach by yourself.
Fill a tray with shaving cream and add drops of food coloring across. Using a skewer, swirl the colors to make a marbled pattern. Press a clean, dry seashell onto it afterwards to finish the coloring!
Sailboat Craft
This 3D sailbot paper craft does not require any painting, and you can still make a beautiful scene. That is the ocean, sun, beach, and sailbot. For the wavy ocean, we will be tearing strips of blue cardstock by hand in different shades of blue.
Then reassemble by keeping the little spaces in between to show off the foam. To make the sun, layer paper circles with torn yellow scraps acting as the rays. Similarly, it is clever and easy!
