Crochet Cute Green & Black Alien Amigurumi: Round-by-Round Pattern
Here is the crochet pattern for making this adorable alien amigurumi (crochet plushie) with the assembly in the end:
Materials Needed
- Yarn: Medium-weight (four-ply) milk cotton yarn or any amigurumi-friendly yarn in Green.
- Crochet Hook: 2.5mm or 3.0mm hook.
- Eyes: A small piece of black felt or fabric.
- Stuffing: Polyester fiberfill.
- Tools: Tapestry needle, scissors, and fabric glue or hot glue.

Pattern Instructions
Legs (Make 2)
Work in joined rounds. After finishing the last stitch of each round, join with a slip stitch to the first stitch, then chain 1 to start the next round.
- Round 1: Make a MR, ch 1, and work 6 sc into the ring. Pull the ring tight, and sl st to the first st to join. (6 sts)
- Rounds 2–5: ch 1, work 1 sc in each st around. sl st to join. (6 sts per round)
- For the first leg: Fasten off and weave in the loose yarn tail. Lightly stuff the leg.
- For the second leg: Repeat Rounds 1 through 5 exactly the same way, but do not cut the yarn. You will use the working loop to join both legs together.
Body
- Round 6: ch 1, sl st into any stitch on the first leg to connect them. Work 6 sc around the first leg, and then work 6 sc around the second leg. sl st to join. (12 sts)
- Rounds 7–9: ch 1, work 1 sc in each st around. sl st to join. (12 sts per round)
Peer Tip: Pause here and add stuffing into the legs and lower body. The opening is very narrow, so stuffing as you go makes it much easier to keep the body firm and round!
- Round 10: ch 1, (4 sc, 1 dec) repeat 2 times around. sl st to join. (10 sts)
- Round 11: ch 1, (3 sc, 1 dec) repeat 2 times around. sl st to join. (8 sts)
- Round 12: ch 1, (2 sc, 1 dec) repeat 2 times around. sl st to join. (6 sts)
Head
The head continues directly from the neck opening without fastening off.
- Round 13: ch 1, work 1 inc into every st around (6 increases total). sl st to join. (12 sts)
- Round 14: ch 1, (5 sc, 1 inc) repeat 2 times around. sl st to join. (14 sts)
- Round 15: ch 1, (6 sc, 1 inc) repeat 2 times around. sl st to join. (16 sts)
- Round 16: ch 1, (3 sc, 1 inc) repeat 4 times around. sl st to join. (20 sts)

Finishing the Head
- Cut your yarn, leaving a long tail for closing.
- Firmly stuff the rest of the head with fiberfill until it forms a nice, smooth sphere.
- Thread your tapestry needle with the yarn tail. Pass the needle through the front loops only of the remaining 7 stitches. Pull the yarn tail tight to completely close the gap, knot securely, and hide the remaining yarn inside the head.
Arms (Make 2)
Work in joined rounds.
- Round 1: Make a MR, ch 1, and work 5 sc into the ring. Pull tight, and sl st to join. (5 sts)
- Rounds 2–5: ch 1, work 1 sc in each st around. sl st to join. (5 sts per round)
Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Flatten the open top edge of the arm, and use your needle to sew the two opposite edges together through the outer loops to seal it completely shut.
Assembly & Face Setup
- Attach the Arms: Take the flattened tops of the arms and sew them onto the sides of the body, positioning them exactly one round below the neckline.
- Craft the Eyes: Cut out two matching oval eye shapes from your black felt. Check the scale against the face to make sure they match the classic alien look.
- Secure the Details: Apply a small amount of fabric glue or hot glue to the back of the felt ovals. Carefully press them onto the front of the head, holding them in place for a few seconds until the glue sets perfectly.
