Free Crochet Flower Pig Plushie Pattern & Keychain for Kids
Author: Talha

Continuing the crochet pig amigurumi & plush series, today, I will share a FREE pattern to crochet this oh-so cute pig face keychain. This crochet pig has sleeping eyes and a flower around the head, too. That makes it an irresistible spring and summer gift for a girl. Or you can also crochet it as a pig face flower plant for decorating your crafting table. You can also crochet a small bow for it before giving it as a gift.

This crochet pig charm is easy, but you will definitely have to crochet some small parts, such as the ears and the muzzle, and sew them to the head afterwards. It is still a low-sew project as we will crochet the petals around. Now, continue reading for the full pig keychain pattern.

  • Round 13: (1 dec, 2 sc) repeat 8 times. (24 sts)
  • Round 14: (1 sc, 1 dec) repeat 8 times. (16 sts)

Pause here to stuff the head firmly. Be sure to push stuffing into the sides to shape the pig’s chubby cheeks!

  • Round 15: 8 dec. (8 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail. Weave the tail through the front loops of the remaining 8 stitches and pull tight to close the hole. Weave in the end.

Ears (Make 2)

Use the skin color yarn. Work in joined rounds.

  • Round 1: MR with 6 sc. sl st to join. (6 sts)
  • Round 2: ch 1, 1 inc, 4 sc, 1 inc. sl st to join. (8 sts)

  • Round 4: ch 1, 1 sc, 1 inc, 6 sc, 1 inc, 1 sc. sl st to join. (12 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Fold the ears slightly flat when sewing them on.

Snout

Use the darker pink yarn.

  • Round 1: ch 4. Starting in the 2nd ch from the hook, make 2 sc. In the last ch, make 1 inc (2 sc). Turn to work down the opposite side of the chain: make 1 sc, then 1 inc (2 sc) in the final st. sl st to the first st to join.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Detailing: Using a strand of white yarn, embroider a small horizontal line across the top edge of the snout for a highlight.

Face Assembly

  1. Eyes: Using dark brown or black yarn, embroider two small vertical lines (or French knots) for the eyes between Rounds 7 and 8 of the head, spaced about 2 stitches apart.
  2. Snout: Sew the pink snout securely just below the eyes. Once sewn, use the dark brown/black yarn to embroider two tiny vertical lines on the snout for the nostrils.
  3. Ears: Sew the ears to the top sides of the head (around Round 4).
  4. Cheeks: Apply a little bit of pink blush underneath the eyes for rosy cheeks.

Flower Petal Ring

Use red, pink, or your preferred flower color. You will make a ring that goes around the pig’s head.

  • Foundation: ch 36. Being careful not to twist the chain, join to the first ch with a sl st to form a ring.
  • Petals (Make 8): ch 1.
    • Stitch 1: 1 sc.
    • Stitch 2: Work (1 hdc, 2 dc) all into this same stitch.
    • Stitch 3: Work 2 tr (treble crochets) into this same stitch.
    • Stitch 4: Work (2 dc, 1 hdc) all into this same stitch.
    • Repeat this 4-stitch petal pattern 8 times around the chain.

Adding a Keychain (Optional): Before fastening off the flower ring, sl st into the next stitch. ch 5. Thread your keychain ring onto the chain loop, sl st back into the base of the chain to secure the loop. Fasten off, leaving a very long tail.

Final Assembly

Slip the flower petal ring over the pig’s head so it frames the face. Ensure the keychain loop (if added) is centered at the top. Using the long tail from the flower ring (or regular thread), carefully sew the inner edge of the flower ring to the back of the pig’s head to secure it permanently in place. Add a small bow to the top if needed!
