Tutorial to Make a Pipe Cleaner Heart Shell Snail Present
This project is a small snail. It is made from red and white pipe cleaners. You use red pipe cleaners to make a heart. This heart is the shell of the snail. You use white pipe cleaners to make the snail’s body.
You wrap the white pipe cleaner around a pen to make a long tube. Then you glue the red heart on the white body. You add small red feelers on the top of the head.
You also add small black eyes. You can hang it on your phone or bag. It looks very cute and is very soft. It is easy to make with glue and scissors.
Materials Needed

Pipe Cleaners: Red (for the shell) and white or cream (for the body).

Small Black Beads: For the eyes.

Tiny Red Pom-poms: For the antennas.

Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks.

Pen or Refill Tube: To help coil the pipe cleaner.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Make the Heart Shell

Measure and Loop: Take a red pipe cleaner. Create a loop about 3cm long.

Form the Heart Shape: Fold the pipe cleaner back and forth into two loops that look like the top of a heart.

Wrap to Fill: Take the long end of the pipe cleaner and wrap it around the two loops you just made. Keep wrapping until the shape is solid and looks like a thick red heart.

Tuck the End: Tuck the final end of the pipe cleaner inside the heart so it doesn’t poke out.
Step 2: Make the Snail Body

Coil the Body: Take a white or cream pipe cleaner. Wrap it tightly around a pen or a thin tube. Slide it off; it should look like a spring.

Shape the Head: Take one end of the white coil. Pull it up and slightly outward to create a neck and a rounded head.

Seal the Base: Use a small piece of pipe cleaner to plug the bottom of the coil so it stays together and has a flat “belly.”
Step 3: Combine the Body and Shell

Apply a line of hot glue along the back of the white body.

Press the red heart shell onto the glue. Make sure the “point” of the heart is facing toward the back of the snail.
Step 4: Create the Antennas

Cut the Wires: Cut two tiny pieces of red pipe cleaner (about 1cm long).

Add Pom-poms: Glue a tiny red pom-pom to the top of each small wire.

Attach to Head: Glue the two antennas onto the top of the snail’s white head.
Step 5: Add the Eyes

Put two small dots of glue on the front of the white head.

Using tweezers or your fingers, press the two black beads into the glue to make the eyes.
Step 6: Finish with a Strap (Optional)

If you want to use it as a keychain or charm, glue a small metal loop or a charm strap to the back of the heart shell.
