Pattern to DIY a Pipe Cleaner Kitty Craft
This craft is a small cat in a pumpkin. You use fuzzy wires called pipe cleaners. You need orange, black, and green wires. You also need glue and eyes. First, you make the pumpkin. You bend the orange wire into many parts.
Glue them to make a ball shape. Put a face on the pumpkin with black wire bits. Next, make the black cat. Bend black wire for the head and the body.
Use scissors to cut the cat hair to make it neat. Glue the cat parts together. Put the cat in the pumpkin. Add a small hat and a green stem.
How It Is Done
This project is made by folding, bending, and gluing pipe cleaners together. You create the pumpkin first by making several curved ribs and joining them into a sphere.
Then, you build the cat by layering black pipe cleaners and trimming them with scissors to get a soft, sculpted look. Finally, you use a glue gun to put all the pieces together and add small details like googly eyes and a stem.

Feels Difficult?
Step 1: Make the Pumpkin
-
Take an orange pipe cleaner. Fold it into several strips that are 4cm long.
-
Glue these strips together side-by-side to make a flat row.
-
Use your pliers to bend this row into a curve.
-
Glue the two ends of the row together to form a round, hollow ball (this is your pumpkin).
-
Cut tiny triangles from a black pipe cleaner or felt and glue them on for eyes. Add a wiggly line for the mouth.

Step 2: Make the Cat Head
-
Take a black pipe cleaner. Fold it into 4cm strips.
-
As you fold, shape the top two corners into sharp points to look like cat ears.
-
Glue the layers together so the head is thick.
-
Use scissors to “haircut” the pipe cleaner. Trim the fuzz until the head looks round and the ears are sharp.
Step 3: Make the Cat Body
-
Take another piece of black pipe cleaner. Fold it into small 2cm strips.
-
Roll and glue these strips into a small, thick ball. This will be the body that sits inside the pumpkin.
-
Glue the head onto the top of this body.
Step 4: Assemble the Kitty in the Pumpkin
-
Put a big drop of glue inside the top hole of your pumpkin.
-
Press the cat’s body into the hole so the head and “paws” stick out of the top.
-
Glue two small googly eyes onto the cat’s face.

Step 5: The Final Details (Hat and Stem)
-
The Hat: Take the yellow pipe cleaner (10cm). Roll it into a tiny cone shape. Glue it onto the cat’s head between the ears.
-
The Stem: Take the green pipe cleaner (4cm). Twist it around a pencil to make it curly. Glue it to the top of the yellow hat or the pumpkin.
-
Clean up: If there are any stray fuzzy hairs, use scissors to trim them off so your plushie looks neat.
